Refund & Cancellation Policy
How payments, cancellation windows, included revisions, and refunds work for Apex Scholars engagements.
- Effective
- Last updated
This is a living policy. We may update it as Apex Scholars evolves; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
1. Overview
Apex Scholars is a premium ethical academic support service. We charge fairly, start work only after payment clears, and keep cancellation and refund rules transparent. This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
Nothing in this Policy requires us to deliver ghostwriting, essay-mill services, or guaranteed grades. Requests that violate our academic integrity standards may be refused; see Section 7.
2. Payment before work
Full payment (or the agreed deposit stated at checkout) is required before we begin work on tutoring sessions, editorial reviews, coaching packages, or other paid Services.
- Your order is confirmed when payment successfully clears and you receive a confirmation email or in-product receipt.
- We do not start substantive work (scheduling coaches, reviewing drafts, or delivering written feedback) until payment is received.
- Failed, reversed, or disputed payments may pause or cancel the engagement until resolved.
3. Cancellation windows
You may cancel an order by emailing support@apexscholars.com with your order reference. Eligibility depends on how far the engagement has progressed:
- Before work starts (and at least 24 hours before a scheduled live session): Full refund of amounts paid for that cancelled Service, minus any non-refundable payment-processing fees we cannot recover (if disclosed at checkout).
- Within 24 hours of a scheduled live tutoring or coaching session: The session fee is non-refundable. You may request one reschedule to a mutually available time if you notify us before the session begins; no-shows are charged in full.
- After work has started on an editorial or asynchronous package: You may cancel remaining unused portions. We refund the unused balance after deducting a fair charge for work already performed (time logged, drafts reviewed, or milestones completed), as summarised in your confirmation or invoice.
- After final deliverables are provided: Cancellation does not apply; see revision and refund sections below.
“Work has started” means we have assigned a specialist, opened your materials for review, begun preparing session plans, or otherwise commenced the scope you purchased.
4. Revision limits (maximum two)
Unless your package expressly states otherwise, each paid editorial or written-feedback engagement includes up to two (2) rounds of revisions within the original scope.
- Round 1 and Round 2 cover reasonable adjustments to clarity, structure, tone, citation format, or coaching notes already addressed in the brief, not a new assignment, new word count, or new topic.
- Revision requests must be submitted within fourteen (14) days of delivery of the prior round (or within the window stated on your order).
- Additional revisions, expanded scope, or rush turnarounds after the two included rounds require a new paid add-on.
- Live tutoring hours are consumed as scheduled; unused purchased hours may be rescheduled per Section 3, not “revised” as written deliverables.
5. When refunds apply
We will refund (in whole or in part) when:
- You cancel within the eligible windows in Section 3 and funds remain after any fair work-performed deduction.
- We cancel the engagement for reasons other than your breach (for example, we cannot staff your subject in time) and you decline a reasonable alternative.
- We fail to deliver the agreed scope in a material way and cannot cure within a reasonable time after you notify us in writing.
- A duplicate charge or clear billing error occurs (we will correct promptly once verified).
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within ten (10) business days of approval; your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the credit.
6. When refunds do not apply
Refunds are not available for:
- Dissatisfaction with a grade, mark, feedback from your institution, or admissions outcome. We never guarantee academic results.
- Change of mind after final deliverables have been provided and your included revision rounds are exhausted or expired.
- No-shows, late arrivals beyond the session window, or failure to supply materials needed for us to perform the Service.
- Services you used in breach of our Terms of Service, including requests for ghostwriting or other academic misconduct.
- Third-party fees (currency conversion, your bank’s chargebacks beyond a validated billing error) except where required by law.
7. Integrity-related refusals
If you request work that would constitute ghostwriting, contract cheating, or other academic misconduct, we may refuse or cancel the order. In that case:
- If we have not started work, we refund amounts paid for that order, minus non-recoverable processing fees if any were disclosed.
- If work has started before the integrity issue is identified, we may deduct a fair charge for time already spent and refund the remainder, or decline a refund where misuse is clear and wilful.
This protects students, institutions, and the integrity of Apex Scholars’ ethical positioning.
8. How to request a cancellation or refund
- Email support@apexscholars.com with your full name, order reference, Service date(s), and reason.
- We acknowledge requests within two (2) business days and aim to resolve within ten (10) business days.
- Keep records of cancellations and approvals for your own reference.
9. Statutory rights
Nothing in this Policy limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract. If those laws require a more favourable remedy, they prevail for the covered claim.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as our Services evolve. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date on this page. Questions: support@apexscholars.com or legal@apexscholars.com.
